Using Narrative Therapy, we envision a world where survivors and individuals impacted by the judicial system reclaim their life to thrive through empowerment and storytelling. We honor lived experience as expertise, fostering transformation and human connection over judgement and punishment
We empower survivors of crime and returning citizens; both Transitional Age Youth (TAY) and adults, to engage in practices that promote healing as they rebuild their life and thrive. This is achieved through storytelling, shared lived experiences, and trauma informed support that leads to the development of social learning skills and increased self awareness.
Healing Circles: Using the practices of restorative justice, to create spaces that highlight compassion, unity and empathy
Transformative Workshops: Tools for personal empowerment through storytelling.
Reentry Training: Expert guidance for life after incarceration, providing trauma informed support. Lived Experience Mentorship: Peer support to navigate challenges.
Together, we reclaim stories and build self-determined lives.
Sometimes, when we have been hurt or feel scared, our first reaction is to push people away or argue. To protect ourselves from more harm, we develop "survival modes." Without even knowing it, we get used to seeing threats in others instead of friends.
This is what we call contradiction. It’s like two people pushing against each other to stay safe, instead of pulling together to move forward.
Collaboration is choosing to be on the same team. We take the lessons and insights from our past to help people build bridges that connect, uplift, and empower others.
It means working together to build something good, where everyone’s voice is heard and respected. It is about creating a safe space where mutuality, love, and community can truly thrive.
At COC, we help people "interrupt" the habit of pushing away and replace it with the power of working together. We turn our past "setbacks" into stepping stones to help everyone rebuild, restore, and rise.

Healing is an act of reclamation. At COC, we are dedicated to supporting survivors as they navigate the aftermath of crime. By providing trauma informed care and a community of belonging, we help individuals shift from surviving to thriving;
reclaiming their stories and rebuilding their lives on their own terms

Behavior always follows belief.
By reframing the narratives we carry, the stories that influence our daily decisions, we unlock the power to transform our reality and rebuild our lives. At COC, our workshops help you shift your mindset to change your trajectory.
Your future isn’t set; it’s reclaimed.
One belief, one story, one life at a time

True mentorship isn’t found in a textbook; it’s forged in the fire of real experiences. At COC, our mentors embody collaboration over contradiction, leading with lived experience and offering a depth of empathy that only those who have walked the path can provide. We don’t just give advice; we empower through storytelling, providing a blueprint for transformation. When we say 'I understand,' we mean it, backed by trauma informed support. Your future is built on shared strength.

True systemic change begins with a shift in perspective. Our training equips staff to lead with empathy, embracing collaboration over contradiction and transforming challenges into opportunities for connection. We don’t just teach trauma informed support; we help teams build holistic practices that honor the dignity of our community and promote empowerment through storytelling.
When staff change how they see us, they change how they serve us

We provide returning citizens with trauma informed support and peer-led assistance, equipping them with practical resources to navigate their transition home. By centering dignity and fostering empowerment through storytelling, we help our community members move beyond their records and toward their purpose. Your past is a chapter, but your future is the story.
